Dangclemaeda is a performance work that contemporarily reinterprets the music and imagery of Jeju shamanic ritual. Expanding the rhythms, movements, and invitational energies of the ritual into a language of sound and light, the piece repositions traditional ceremonial intensity within a present-day sensory environment. Presented at Culture Station Seoul 284 as part of RTO 365, the work engages the audience in real time, dissolving the boundary between stage and seating while shaping an immersive space where spiritual presence and human presence coexist.

The title refers to dangcle, the place prepared in a Jeju ritual for the gods to descend and remain. Taking that concept as its point of departure, the work develops a stage language that summons presence through sound and reveals it through light. Rather than reproducing ritual form literally, Dangclemaeda translates the concentrated, volatile energy of gut performance into a contemporary composition of music, illumination, and space.
