The stage video design for Lee Hong-do Autobiography was conceived so that the autobiographical text would appear not merely as conveyed information, but as another performer breathing alongside the actors on stage. Depending on the moment, the text becomes a supporter that assists the character, an adversarial force that confronts and pressures him, or a sharp voice that delivers a piercing rebuke. This visual language intervenes between the actors’ bodies and spoken words, shaping psychological tension and rhythmic structure, and ultimately comes to embody the protagonist’s inner voice, enabling him to step beyond the theater. In this work, stage video was designed not as background or effect, but as a living partner carrying the narrative and emotional arc of the performance.
